On a bright May morning in 2026, the campus of Hope Academy was transformed into a theatre of purpose and promise. Against a backdrop of colourful house banners — Lincoln Red, Luther Blue, Mandela Yellow, and Gandhi Green — students, faculty, and honoured guests gathered for one of the most cherished traditions in the school calendar: the Investiture Ceremony, themed Striving for the Highest.

The ceremony was hosted with grace and warmth by Peteneinu Pienyu, whose welcoming address set the tone for an event that was as much a celebration of character as it was a conferring of titles. The proceedings opened with a heartfelt opening prayer by Nukshijongla Ozukum, calling upon divine wisdom to guide the new leaders in the year ahead.

“Today, we do not merely hand out titles; we entrust a legacy.”

The Oath of Office

The centrepiece of the ceremony was the solemn swearing-in, administered by Wapang Meren, Manager of Hope Academy. As the newly appointed leaders stepped forward and raised their right hands, four pledges bound them to their new responsibilities.

Presentation of Badges

Following the oath, the ceremony moved to its most visually striking moment: the presentation of badges of office. Principal Sashizungla Ao and Vice-Principal Rajesh Dey stepped forward to personally pin the badges onto each new leader — a gesture that carries with it the full weight of the institution’s trust and high expectations.

For each student who received their badge, it was a moment of quiet pride — not only an acknowledgement of their past achievements, but a commission for the work ahead.

A Word from the Principal

The ceremony culminated with an address by Principal Sashizungla Ao, whose words reminded every student — leader or not — that the spirit of the investiture belongs to the whole school. She spoke of integrity as the foundation upon which all leadership must rest, and of service as its highest expression.

Her address underscored what the house banners above the stage already declared: that Hope Academy is a community shaped by more than academic achievement — it is forged by character, bound by values, and driven by a collective aspiration to strive for the highest.

“Lead with integrity, inspire through your actions, and serve with humility.”

— Principal Sashizungla Ao

Looking Ahead

As the badges were pinned and the applause faded into the warm morning air, what remained was something less tangible but far more enduring: a sense of renewed commitment. The Class of 2026 leaders carry with them not only the honour of their titles, but the trust of their teachers, the hopes of their peers, and the legacy of every student leader who came before them.

Hope Academy looks forward with great anticipation to the year ahead — to the assemblies led with confidence, the houses rallied with spirit, and the many small acts of service and kindness that define what true student leadership looks like in practice.

Congratulations to every leader invested today. May your year be defined by courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to making Hope Academy a place where every student can thrive.
